EGENCO Commemorates Internal Audit Month Through Student Outreach

EGENCO joined the global community in commemorating Internal Audit Month through a meaningful outreach initiative led by the Internal Audit Department.

As part of the commemoration, the Department visited four secondary schools, engaging learners in interactive sessions aimed at raising awareness about the internal audit profession and inspiring students to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits.

Chimwemwe Chawinga, Internal Audit Manager at EGENCO said the outreach also emphasized the importance of integrity, accountability, and professionalism in building successful careers.

In recognition of academic excellence, the team presented assorted gifts to high-performing students and donated a variety of textbooks to support learning resources in the schools’ libraries.

The schools visited under this initiative were Stella Maris Secondary School, Alpha Private Secondary School, FOMO Independent Secondary School, and Chimwankhunda Community Day Secondary School (CDSS). Through these engagements, the program reached over 2,000 students.

“As we celebrate Internal Audit Month, we reaffirm our dedication to excellence in fulfilling our vital mandate of generating reliable power to support Malawi’s national economic development.” Said Chawinga.
