EGENCO BOARD TOURS POWER STATIONS

The newly appointed Board of Directors for the Electricity Generation Company (Malawi) Limited (EGENCO) toured EGENCO’s power stations in the Southern and Central regions to appreciate power generation operations and projects.

Led by the Board Chairperson, Justin Saidi, who is also Chief Secretary to Government, the Board Directors toured Mapanga Diesel Power Plant, Kapichira, Nkula and Tedzani hydropower stations between 3 to 4 January 2026. The tour continued with visits to Kanengo Diesel Power Plant and the Salima Solar Power Project on 13 January 2026.

Speaking at the end of the tour, the Board Chairperson commended EGENCO employees for their dedication and assured them of the Board’s full support.

“Thank you for the great work that you are doing. As your Board, we are available to provide you any support that will enable the country to have power all day.” Said Saidi.

The EGENCO Board was appointed in December 2025 and has since commenced its operations.
