BEWARE OF FRAUD IN THE NAME OF EGENCO

The Electricity Generation Company (Malawi) Limited (EGENCO) would like to warn the general public and its stakeholders of some unscrupulous individuals who are claiming to have contract(s) with the Company to supply goods and services and thereby soliciting advance payments or loans from unsuspecting clients or their business partners.

Please be aware of such scams. As a public company, EGENCO is transparent and follows all regulatory procedures in its procurement processes in which adverts for any major contracts are published in the local newspapers and approvals obtained from office of Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) and the Public are informed accordingly as per the PPDA Act of 2017.

The public and stakeholders are therefore being advised to contact EGENCO and verify with the Company when approached by anybody claiming to have contract(s) with the Company to supply goods or services.

EGENCO wishes to stress that anyone dealing or entering into agreements with such individuals or companies will be doing so at their own risk and EGENCO shall not be held responsible for any claim, loss, or damages whatsoever, suffered directly or indirectly as results of such transactions.
