2019 AFRICAN HYDRO SYMPOSIUM

The Electricity Generation Company (Malawi) Limited (EGENCO) wishes to inform the corporate world, all its stakeholders and the public that Malawi, the Warm Heart of Africa, through EGENCO, will from 8th to 10th October 2019 host the 2019 African Hydro Symposium (AHS) in Blantyre.

The Symposium, which is held annually, is a regional forum where hydro power plant operating personnel representing various electricity utilities and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) in Africa, meet to share experiences and deliberate on developments, operations, maintenance and management of hydro power plants. The Secretariat of African Hydro Symposium is based at Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre in Zambia.

The theme for this year’s symposium is Quality Power for Sustainable Development in Africa. Approximately 150 delegates from power utilities across Africa are expected to attend the Symposium. The Symposium will also attract international participation from various energy sectors, equipment manufacturers and suppliers from Europe, Asia and America.

The symposium will be held in Blantyre at the newly built magnificent Sunbird Mount Soche Hotel Conference Centre. EGENCO is therefore inviting participation of various organizations and individuals in the 2019 African Hydro Symposium. Organizations can participate as joint sponsors and also by sending individual employees as delegates to attend the symposium.
