EGENCO SHOWCASES INNOVATIONS AT THE 35TH MALAWI INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR
The Electricity Generation Company (Malawi) Limited (EGENCO) participated at the just ended 35th Malawi International Trade Fair (MITF) where it showcased its work, projects and strategy of power generation. The fair, which took place at the Chichiri Trade Fair Grounds in Blantyre from 22 to 29 June 2025 under the theme Promoting Economic Transformation through Private Sector-led Industrialization was officially opened by the President of the Republic of Malawi, His Excellency Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera.
The Chairperson of EGENCO’s Trade Fair Organizing Committee, Yamikani Mlilima, who is also the organization’s Chief Risk Management Officer, said EGENCO took part in the fair as one way of engaging its stakeholders.
“We are participating in the Malawi International Trade Fair to engage with and showcase our work in power generation to all Malawians so they can appreciate the work we do at our power stations”. Said Mlilima.
Approximately, 190 exhibitors from Malawi and other countries such as Zambia, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Tanzania participated in the fair which ran from 22nd to 29th May 2025 at the Chichiri Trade Fair Grounds, in Blantyre.
