Wovwe mini-hydro power plant was commissioned in 1995. With time, the equipment of the power plant had become old, dilapidated and susceptible to frequent breakdowns.
Therefore, EGENCO embarked on major rehabilitation works of its power plant at Wovwe aimed at modernizing the power plant, improving their reliability and extending its useful lifespan.
The rehabilitation works, which were conducted in 2017, involved replacing electro-mechanical equipment for 3 power generation units and upgrading of the control system.
